SUDDENLY SUPERNATURAL : SCAREDY KAT by Elizabeth Cody Kimmel.

suddenlyThis is the second in the series about 13 year old Kat who has just discovered she is, like her mother, a medium.  When Kat takes photos of the old abandoned house next door she sees a strange presence in the photo. When she visits the house, Kat sees the image of a young boy and letters on the window spelling “Help me”.  Through a combination of horrifying dreams and the assurances of her Mom’s friend, a healer, Kat is able to drive away the evil spirit that was keeping Tank, the young boy, in a coma.

The combination of 7th grade angst and supernatural powers may make this popular with some readers.  The plot moves, but at times the explanations of how the healing works, etc. can slow the story.  Some libraries own the first book, School Spirit (2008).
